Nea Makri

This is the location in Nea Makri where scenes from the upcoming film The Riders, starring Brad Pitt, were filmed on March 13, 2026.

The Nautical Club was founded in the 1960s, when Nea Makri began developing as a seaside town for Athenians.
Local residents and sailing enthusiasts wanted to create:
a training centre for young sailors,
a meeting point for boat owners,
and an organisation promoting maritime culture in the area.

Since then, the club has been based in the small harbour of Nea Makri.
